    Memorial flags stand at all 265,000 gravestones at Arlington National Cemetery, including this one for retired Army Lt. Col. Arnold Laidig, Jr. Laidig, former public affairs officer for the Military District of Washington, participated regularly in observances at Arlington, including the annual "Flags In" tribute, and felt close personal ties to the cemetery and his comrades buried there.
