An Air Force A-10 Warthog assigned to the 303rd Fighter Squadron, 442nd Fighter Wing, Whiteman Air Force Base, Missouri, provides emergency close air support during Exercise Tinman at Smoky Hill Air National Guard Range, Kansas, May 21, 2025. The close air support was requested by Airmen assigned to the 184th Security Forces Squadron, Kansas Air National Guard, at forward operating sites that fell under attack by opposition ground forces. With the help of joint terminal attack controllers assigned to the 284th Air Support Operations Squadron, KSANG, the Security Forces personnel coordinated attacks directly with air crews to quickly end the hostile engagement.
