Garrison Command Sgt. Maj. Barnes and Yannick Hirwa, a fifth-grader at Logan Elementary here, team up and rouse the crowd of attendants for the groundbreaking ceremony signaling the start of construction of a new "State of the Army" school over the next year and a half. Logan is the first of 20 schools selected by Department of Defense for funding in the amount of more than $13 million for the scheduled construction. The school is scheduled to be open in the fall of 2014. The project will replace all of the old campus except the pre-kindergarten wing, and the new all-purpose building, which opened two years ago.
