The Puerto Rico National Guard (PRNG) joined the nationwide commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the United States Army with a special ceremony honoring its history, legacy, and continued military service in Puerto Rico, June 13, 2025. The ceremony also included musical performances by the 248th Army Band of the Puerto Rico National Guard, a unit with over 100 years of history, renowned for its musical excellence and vital role in strengthening the bond between the military and the Puerto Rican people. The Band performed both at the official ceremony held at “Soldier’s Square” in the morning and at the commemorative luncheon hosted by the Gary Sinise Foundation—both events coordinated by Fort Buchanan.
These celebratory activities underscore the Puerto Rico National Guard’s dedication to honoring the Army’s history, preserving its traditions, and continuing its service to the people of Puerto Rico and the Nation.
