    Members of a U.S. Coast Guard Law Enforcement Detachment conduct maintenance on an M-4 service rifle and a Gisselle mark 18 service rifle in the hangar bay of the Independence-class littoral combat ship USS Charleston (LCS 18), while underway in the Pacific Ocean, May 27, 2025. Charleston is employed under U.S. Northern Command’s maritime homeland defense authorities with a Coast Guard Law Enforcement Detachment embarked to enable maritime interdiction missions to prevent the flow of illegal drugs and other illegal activity.
