    173rd Airborne Brigade

U.S. Army paratroopers assigned to the 173rd Airborne Brigade pay their respects to the service members who fought during World War II as part of the D-Day 81 commemorations in Sainte-Mère-Église, France, June 5, 2025. Behind them stands the sign monument honoring the 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions, whose paratroopers helped liberate the region on June 5-6, 1944. Designed by Yves-Marie Froidevaux and erected by the Normandy Landing Committee, the memorial is one of ten identical monuments placed at key Allied landing sites across Normandy.

The 173rd Airborne Brigade is the U.S. Army's Contingency Response Force in Europe, providing rapidly deployable forces to the United States European, African, and Central Command areas of responsibility. Forward stationed in Italy and Germany, the brigade routinely trains alongside NATO allies and partners to build readiness and strengthen the alliance.
