Sgt. Jake Veith, a native of Greenland, Colo., interacts with a crowd of Iraqis gathering for an Iraqi army humanitarian assistance food drop and combined medical engagement May 24 at the abandoned al-Faraqidh School, which is located in the Jamilla neighborhood of the Sadr City district of Baghdad. Veith is a member of a military transition team for the 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Multi-National Division - Baghdad. During the visit, he was part of an observation team for the 42nd Brigade, 11th Iraqi Army Division, which handed out 500 bags of food and treated more than 500 Iraqis for varying degrees of illness and injuries.
