A CPR pocket mask is placed on a training mannequin during the American Red Cross Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED course at Yokota Air Base, Japan, May 19, 2025. The cardiopulmonary resuscitation and automated external defibrillator course teaches individuals how to recognize cardiac arrest, perform CPR, and use an AED to help save a life. The intent of the wing front office personnel attending this course was to deliberately increase the number of personnel trained on crucial life saving techniques at the headquarters campus. The response time for first responders after 911 is called averages 8-12 minutes, and during sudden cardiac arrest each minute that defibrillation is delayed reduces someone's chances of survival by approximately 10%.
