The Minnesota National Guard’s Army Sgt. Devon Shaw, from Elk River, who serves as a horizontal construction engineer with the 850th Engineer Construction Company, 84th Troop Command competed in the Region IV Best Warrior Competition from May 1-3, 2025, at Fort McCoy, Wisconsin. This competition brought the top enlisted Soldiers and noncommissioned officers from Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin to establish the best junior enlisted and noncommissioned officer in the region to send to the National Best Warrior Competition July 11-20, 2025, in Maryland.
