JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-FORT SAM HOUSTON – (May 20, 2025) – Karen Brocklehurst, of Severn, Md., a biological science laboratory technician assigned to Naval Medical Research Unit (NAMRU) San Antonio, was recognized by Commanding Officer Capt. Michael Tiller, Medical Corps, as the command’s Fiscal Year 2025 “Science Staff” Civilian of the Half Year during Mission Possible held at the Battlefield Health and Trauma Research Institute. Navy Medicine’s highly skilled workforce – at sea and ashore – provide an unmatched advantage in ensuring the health and readiness of the nation’s warfighters. NAMRU San Antonio, part of Navy Medicine Research & Development, conducts gap-driven combat casualty care, craniofacial, and directed energy research in support of Navy, Marine Corps and joint U.S. warfighter health readiness and lethality while engaged in routine and expeditionary operations.
