IIT is part of the Chicago Consortium that also includes midshipmen from the University of Illinois in Chicago, Northwestern University and Loyola University. Naval Service Training Command, headquartered at Naval Station Great Lakes, oversees 98 percent of initial officer and enlisted accessions training for the Navy.
