Robert B. Hinton, a new equipment training specialist with the Optics and Non-Lethal Division, Marine Corps Systems Command, shows a class of Marines and Sailors a pair of laser safety glasses May 16. The glasses on display had single-pane protective lenses, meaning they could protect against one laser wavelength. The class focused on how to properly use laser weapon systems, specifically laser dazzlers. Despite being classified as non-lethal, laser dazzlers can pose serious health risks if not used properly.
