YOKOSUKA, Japan (May 7, 2025) Fire Controlman (Aegis) 2nd Class George Grimes, from New York, New York, folds the ensign of the United States on the flight deck of the Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer USS Benfold (DDG 65) during special sea and anchor detail while departing Yokosuka, Japan, May 7. Grimes assisted in folding the ensign after Benfold executed “shift colors” and the ensign moved from being displayed from the flag staff on the flight deck, to flying from a halyard on the mast. Benfold is forward deployed and assigned to Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 15, the Navy’s Largest DESRON and U.S. 7th Fleet’s principal surface force.
