Coast Guard Cutter Campbell crewmembers hold two young Haitians. Once aboard a Coast Guard cutter, illegal migrants are processed to determine identity and provided food, water, shelter, and basic medical attention before repatriation. The Coast Guard, along with its partners, maintains a continual presence in the Florida Straits and the Caribbean Sea in support of efforts to protect the safety of life at sea while preventing unlawful maritime entry to the U.S. and its territories.
