Lt. Col. James Sage talks to maintainers while F-22s flown by the Hawaii Air National Guard's 199th Fighter Squadron and the active duty Air Force's 19th Fighter Squadron prepare to take off during an early morning 14-ship sortie rotation. Sage, 19th Fighter Squadron deputy of operations, was the safety officer during a sortie "surge" to launch a record number of aircraft.
