250425-N-N1574-1005 Capt. Frank Axelsen assumes command from Capt. Scott Coon of Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command Pensacola during a formal ceremony held at NAS Pensacola’s National Naval Aviation Museum, April 25, 2025. NMRTC Pensacola is a critical hub for preparing and sustaining medically trained personnel who support Expeditionary Medical Systems (EXMEDS) and other operational platforms. By equipping corpsmen, nurses, and medical officers with the skills needed for deployed care, the command directly contributes to Navy Medicine’s ability to project medical power in support of global maritime operations.
