On Aug. 17, Soldier with 1st Squadron, 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment, 256th Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, honor their fallen brother Sp. Brian Derks, with F Troop 1/11th ACR. Spc. Brian Derks died on August 13, from the blast of a Improvised Explosive Device while conducting combat operations in the Abu Ghraib district. Spc.
