A U.S. Air Force A-10 Thunderbolt II, flown by Maj. Eric Almeida, 422nd Test and Evaluation Squadron, comes in low over the lookout peak the tactical air control party (TACP)/joint terminal attack controllers (JTAC) observe from at the Nevada Test and Training Range, Nevada, April 17, 2025. The A-10 was not only built around a 30mm GAU-8/A Avenger rotary cannon, but it can carry up to 16,000lbs of mixed ordnance, such as various bombs and missiles, on a number of pylons.
