MUTSU, Japan (April 14, 2025) - U.S. Navy Capt. Paul A. Hockran, Commanding Officer, U.S. Naval Air Facility (NAF) Misawa, center, and his wife Rosemary Hockran, participate in the customary Kanpai with Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force Capt. Takeshima Hiroaki, Chief of Staff, Ominato Area Command, left, Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force Command Master Chief Yoshida Keigo, Ominato District, right, and other member of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force as part of the Japan Maritime Self Defense Force Training Command Welcome Reception hosted by Mutsu City, the Mutsu Defense Association, and the Ominato Area Command, April 14. The reception recognized the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force Training Cruise 2025 and the graduates of the 75th General Officer Candidate Course. NAF Misawa, located at Misawa Air Base near the northern tip of Honshu, Japan, provides aviation and ground logistic support to U.S. Navy and Marine Corps forces in Northern Japan, fostering strong partnerships with the U.S. Air Force, Japan Air Self-Defense Force, and the local community.
