YOKOSUKA, Japan (April 11, 2025) Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Services Policy and Oversight Susan Orsega presents a coin to Ms. Sami Igarashi, a master labor contractor at U.S. Naval Hospital (USNH) Yokosuka, for her invaluable service to the main operating room and sterile processing department. Her experience and intuition have been instrumental in her department’s continued success. Igarashi is a subject matter expert in sterile processing and a mentor to all hospital corpsman surgical technologists in the department. As a native of Japan, her commitment to USNH Yokosuka is highly valued and showcases the strong bond between the U.S. Navy and the local community of Yokosuka, Japan.
