YOKOSUKA, Japan (April 11, 2025) Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Services Policy and Oversight Susan Orsega and U.S. Naval Hospital Yokosuka Director Capt. Torrin Velazquez discuss the capabilities of the Maternal Infant Unit during a tour of the facility. During the visit, Orsega engaged hospital leadership, staff and Sailors about their capabilities and concerns and thanked them for the significant role they play in keeping warfighters and their families in a high state of medical readiness. Velazquez is also the commanding officer of U.S. Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command (USNMRTC) Yokosuka, which is collocated with the hospital and ensures active duty and assigned civilian staff are trained, manned, and equipped for operational readiness.
