From left to right: Army Sgt. 1st Class Ademar Cubero and Air Force Capt. Robert Lax swim 500 meters along the Homestead Bayfront Park shoreline during the Special Operations Command South "Warrior Challenge," March 8. Along with the swim, the challenge had several physical fitness and military skills events such as a 4.5-mile run, weapons malfunction and assembly station, and 4.5-mile ruck march. The event consisted of 21 teams assigned to SOCSOUTH competing for bragging rights among the unit. The purpose of the friendly competition allowed for members of the command to enjoy a day a fun and help build its esprit de corps. The event ended with a command barbecue.
