A team of assessors conducted a comprehensive evaluation of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers – Seattle District’s safety culture using guidance from the Army Safety and Occupational Health Management System (ASOHMS) at Mud Mountain Dam, Aug. 12-15, 2024. The team, led by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Northwestern Division’s chief of Safety and Occupational Health, two DoD Safety Management Center of Excellence assessors, the NWD industrial hygienist and occupational health and two chiefs of safety from Kansas City and Portland District. Seattle District is the first in the Northwestern Division to achieve Stage II certification and is working towards reaching baseline Stage III requirements.
