Cmdr. Jared Hartman, anesthesiologist, with Expeditionary Medicine Facility (EMF) 150 Alpha inserts a Macintosh (MAC) laryngoscope blade to open the airway of a simulated manikin in preparation for intubation before surgery during an EMF training conducted by Naval Expeditionary Medicine Warfighter Development Center (NEMWDC) Feb. 15 - 28. The training prepares EMF medical personnel to provide critical care in challenging and austere environments, focusing on operational medicine, trauma response, and mission readiness to support operational forces worldwide.
