Marines prepare to fast-rope from an MH-60S “Knighthawk” helicopter March 14 for “elevator ops” training on NCTS during Exercise Guahan Shield. Guahan Shield is an exercise designed to prepare for multiservice engagements, set conditions for training opportunities involving multiple units, and support rapid response to potential crises and military operations in the Asia-Pacific region. The Marines are part of Company L, 3rd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, which is currently assigned to 4th Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force under the unit deployment program.
