Command Sgt. Maj. Edison Rebuck, senior enlisted leader, 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, lays out the concept and origin of Raider University to 1st ABCT leaders gathered at the Gateway Theater, Camp Buehring, Kuwait, during the opening ceremony March 8, 2013. Rebuck and Col. Joel Tyler, commander, 1st ABCT, discussed the idea of putting together a program to professionally develop their soldiers during the brigade’s rotation to the National Training Center, Fort Irwin, Calif., last year. “We have to spend as much time, sweat and ability in developing our brains as we do physically training ourselves,” said Rebuck.
