    Maj. Gen. Michelle M. Rose, Assistant Deputy Commanding General for National Guard Affairs, U.S. Army Materiel Command, and her family are recognized for her 35 years of military service at a retirement ceremony Feb. 7, 2025, at Fort Gregg-Adams, Virginia. Lt. Gen. Christopher O. Mohan, acting commander, U.S. Army Materiel Command, presented Rose with the U.S. Army Distinguished Service Medal, a Presidential certificate of appreciation, a certificate of retirement and a U.S. flag, while her husband Robert received several certificates of appreciation for his support. Rose previously served in company, battalion and brigade staff and command positions in the Virginia National Guard, and she is the first woman from the VNG to achieve the rank of major general.
