    A U.S. Marine with the 1st Combat Engineer Battalion, 1st Marine Division, operates a forklift to carry barbed wire near Imperial Beach, California, Feb. 4, 2025. U.S. Northern Command is working together with the Department of Homeland Security to augment U.S. Customs and Border Protection along the southern border with additional military forces.
