Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Jonathan Greenert is greeted by Japanese Ambassador to the United States Kenichiro Sasae on Japan Self-Defense Forces Day at the ambassador's residence. Greenert attended the event as a guest speaker and talked about the strong 60-year alliance between Japan and the U.S. He reflected on how the two nations came together during Operation Tomodochi and also talked about the importance of continuing their relationship as seen through the Navy's rebalance to the Asia Pacific.
