A Marine with Battalion Landing Team 3/5, 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, directs an amphibious assault vehicle off a landing craft air cushion aboard the USS Green Bay after an agricultural wash down, March 9. The wash down is a requirement before the ship can return to the United States and is conducted to ensure no foreign agriculture such as plants, animals or viruses are introduced to the U.S. The 15th MEU is deployed as part of the Peleliu Amphibious Ready Group as a U.S. Central Command theater reserve force, providing support for maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
