U.S. Air Force 1st Lt. Jacob Geil, a flight test engineer assigned to the 59th Test and Evaluation Squadron, worked with avionics engineers to develop the Operational Test and Training Exterior Recording Camera, (OTTER Cam) designed for the A-10 Thunderbolt II on Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada, Jan. 12, 2024. Lieutenant Geil Existing cameras would cost in the neighborhood of $1M and take up to a year to be manufactured.
