Retired Army Lt. Col. William Chamberlain was a Special Forces communications officer assigned to Bob Hope's 1966 USO tour through Vietnam, which was filmed and produced for the NBC-TV special "The Bob Hope Vietnam Christmas Show." During this tour, Chamberlain's second in Vietnam, the colonel worked with Special Forces-led Montagnard tribesmen paramilitaries from the Central Highlands.
