A University of Arkansas Army ROTC cadet jumps from the 3 meter diving platform during the blindfolded "3 Meter Board" event of the Cadet Water Survival Training on Nov. 21, 2024, in Fayetteville, Ark. Designed to assess ability and build confidence in aquatic environments, the CWST evaluates challenging water survival tests, including treading in water, swimming for 10 continuous minutes, swimming while holding a weapon above water, confidence jump while blindfolded, and underwater equipment downgrading.
These skills help to prepare cadets for challenges they may face as future Army leaders, ensuring they build the resilience and confidence to lead soldiers from the front.
