Cadet Peter Jara, a 1st year University of Arkansas Army ROTC celebrates after completing the Cadet Water Survival Training (CWST) on Nov. 21, 2024, in Fayetteville, Ark. The CWST evaluates challenging water survival tests, including treading in water, swimming while holding a weapon above water, confidence jump while blindfolded, and underwater equipment downgrading.
"The CWST was an incredible experience. It was also a great chance to bond with the Razorback battalion," said Jara. These skills help to prepare cadets for challenges they may face as future Army leaders, ensuring they build the resilience and confidence to lead soldiers from the front.
