Airman 1st Class Ian Adams, 100th Civil Engineer Squadron Water and Fuels Systems apprentice from Farmers Branch, Texas, tests raw sewage for total sedimentary solids Feb. 28, 2013, at RAF Mildenhall, England. The treatment plants are supervised and inspected seven days a week to ensure the water always maintains a safe standard. A reading of more than the acceptable total sedimentary solids means the treatment equipment in the earlier stage of the plant needs to be inspected and troubleshot to determine the cause of the negative reading. If a negative reading is found, the shop would inspect the Huber Screens which remove most of the immediate solids from the waste plant's inlet. (U.S. Air Force photo by Gina Randall/Released)
