1st Lt. Jeff Walker, a native of Hays, N.C., and the intelligence officer in charge for the 2-3 Brigade Special Troops Battalion “Titans”, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, reads, “One fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish”, by Dr. Seuss, at the Richmond Hill Elementary School, March 1. Soldiers of the 2-3 BSTB spent all day at the school reading Dr. Seuss books to the children in support of the community and the National Read Across America Day. The day is a celebration in honor of Dr. Seuss’ birthday on March 2. Walker surprised his daughter, Abigail (left, in stripes), seven years old, and a student at Richmond Hill Elementary, by coming in to read to her class without telling her he would be there. “It’s a fun event, a good event, something we need to continue to do,” said Walker.
