    31st Marine Expeditionary Unit       

    U.S. Marines with Force Reconnaissance Platoon, Maritime Raid Force, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, conduct night fast-rope out of an CH-53E Super Stallion assigned to Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 262 (Rein.) on LZ Swallow at Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, Dec. 4, 2024. The Marines conducted nighttime fast-rope training to enhance their ability to quickly insert into a landing zone in a low lighting scenario. The 31st MEU, the Marine Corps’ only continuously forward-deployed MEU, provides a flexible and lethal force ready to perform a wide range of military operations as the premiere crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific region.
