U.S. Marines with Detachment D Company, 4th Law Enforcement Battalion, Force
Headquarters Group, Marine Forces Reserve, tow a snowmobile during a simulated retrieval
mission, Jim Creek, Alaska, Nov. 20, 2024. The servicemembers towed the snowmobile while
conducting cold-weather safety training to prepare for upcoming Toys for Tots events. The
Marines’ participation in this training prepares them to operate in harsh-weather conditions
above the arctic circle, familiarizing themselves with survival techniques, snowmobile operation
