U.S. Marines with Detachment D Company, 4th Law Enforcement Battalion, Force
Headquarters Group, Marine Forces Reserve, unload equipment from a sled, Jim Creek,
Alaska, Nov. 19, 2024. The Marines unloaded the sled while conducting cold-weather safety
training to prepare for upcoming Toys for Tots events in December. The Marines’ participation in
this training prepares them to operate in harsh-weather conditions above the arctic circle,
familiarizing themselves with survival techniques, snowmobile operation and the daily tasks they
will conduct during the Toys for Tots mission. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Sgt. Ethan M.
