The POW/MIA Missing Man table displays a poem written by Jon M. Nelson in front of the names of fallen Soldiers from Operation Enduring Freedom VIII during the Thankgsgiving meal hosted at the Caserma Del Din, dining facility in Vicenza, Italy, Nov 26, 2024. A missing man table, also known as a fallen comrade table, is a memorial that is set up in military dining facilities of the United States Armed Forces and during official dining functions, in honor of the fallen, missing, or imprisoned military service members. The dining facility offered a traditional Thanksgiving meal with senior leaders from across the Vicenza military community, continuing the long military tradition of serving their Soldiers for holiday meals.
