Marine veteran Ray Hennagir, native of Orlando, Fla., dives for a volleyball during practice for the 2013 Marine Corps Trials at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Calif., Feb. 27, 2013. Hennagir lost both his legs and four fingers on his left hand to an improvised explosive device while with 2nd Combat Engineer Battalion in Afghanistan in 2007. Hennagir plans to compete in wheelchair basketball, sitting volleyball and swimming. The Trials is an opportunity for wounded Marines, veterans and allies to compete in wheelchair basketball, sitting volleyball, track and field, swimming, archery and shooting. The top 50 athletes will go on to compete against wounded warriors from the other branches of military service at the Warrior Games in Colorado Springs, Colo., in May.
