Family members, friends and colleagues gather at Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division to honor William “Bill” Pressly, at a flag-raising ceremony in West Bethesda, Md., October 7, 2024. William "Bill" Pressly, a cherished member of the Carderock, dedicated over 40 years of service to advancing naval acoustics and ship signatures. Known for his technical brilliance, Bill played a pivotal role in the success of numerous programs, including the Total Ship Monitoring System (TSMS) and the Columbia-class program. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Bill was remembered for his mentorship, creativity, and genuine kindness—always willing to lend a hand, offer guidance, or share a laugh. His love for Disney, theater, and community service shone through, as did his passion for family and fostering animals. Bill’s legacy continues through the countless lives he touched and the work he inspired. He will be dearly missed by all at Carderock and beyond.
