Spc. Girling Otero gets a box ready for inspection as one of her tasks during the state mobilization. Citizen-soldiers from the Puerto Rico National Guard, along side inspectors from the Puerto Rico Internal Revenue Service, contribute to war against organized crime by inspecting cargo shipped into the island. These inspections are part of the joint mission Operation Task Force Secure Front, in which PRNG troops provide support to several local, federal and state agencies. According to Mr. Brigido Lozano, inspector for the PR IRS, the number of inspections has tripled since Jan. 15, 2013 when the combined effort started.
