Mass Communication Specialist 2nd Class Nick Brown photographs the Sandy Hook Memorial Field Day event during a moment of silence aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Peleliu (LHA 5). The field day was sponsored by the Second Class Association and held to commemorate the 26 victims who lost their lives at the Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy in Newtown, Conn. Peleliu is the flag ship for the Peleliu Amphibious Ready Group and, with the embarked 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, is deployed in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
