Minnesota community leaders including the Adjutant General, Army Maj. Gen. Shawn Manke, met with a delegation led by Djibouti’s Ambassador to the United States, Ambassador Mohamed Siad Doualeh Oct. 25, 2024, in Saint Paul. During the 2020 deployment of Minnesota’s 2nd Battalion, 135th Infantry Regiment to Djibouti, as part of Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa, the unit enhanced security at U.S. installations and forward operating bases in the region and maintained a rapidly deployable force prepared to respond to crises.
