The aircraft transported the general officers to Ban Dan Lan Hoi, Sukothai province, to attend a combined arms live-fire exercise, the culminating event of exercise Cobra Gold 2013. As the largest multinational exercise in the Asia-Pacific region, CG 13 has demonstrated the commitment of partner nations to enhancing interoperability of military forces, strengthening of regional relationships, and the promotion of security and cooperation within the region. Robling is the commander of U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Pacific; Wiercinski is the commander of U.S. Army Pacific; and Owens is the commanding general of 1st Marine Aircraft Wing.
