(Oct. 15, 2024) The Bainbridge Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service (WAVES) group is greeted by Mass Communication Specialist 2nd Class Abigail Beardsley before touring the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69). Dwight D. Eisenhower hosted 30 members of the Bainbridge WAVES. These women enlisted in the U.S. Navy between 1946-1974 and are trailblazers for women serving today.
