U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Joseph Vargas shows a Waseda University student the features of a Light Armored Vehicle 25 during a community visit on Camp Schwab, Okinawa, Sep. 30, 2024. Students from a university in Tokyo visited Camp Schwab to speak with Marines and learn about Light Armored Reconnaissance Marines and their mission. Vargas, a Texas native, is a LAV crewman with 3d Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion and is forward deployed in the Indo-Pacific under 4th Marine Regiment, 3d Marine Division as part of the Unit Deployment Program.
