In the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, hundreds of Florida Air National Guardsmen established points of distribution (PODs) to distribute cases of water and meals-ready-to-eat, commonly known as MREs, throughout Manatee and Charlotte counties in southwest Florida. More than 3,000 cases of MREs and water were distributed to local residents facing food and water shortages. Soldiers and Airmen of the Florida National Guard are providing humanitarian assistance as part of post-storm operations throughout the state. (U.S. Air National Guard video by Tech Sgt.
