Sailors assigned to the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Boxer (LHD 4), and Marines assigned to the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) conduct flight operations with the an MH-60S Sea Hawk Helicopter, assigned to the “Wildcards” of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 23, and U.S. Marines Corps MV-22B Ospreys, attached to Marine Tiltrotor Squadron (VMM) 165 (Reinforced), and U.S. Marines Corps F-35B Lightning II aircraft, assigned to the “Vikings” of Marine Fighter Attack Squadron (VMFA) 225, while the ship transits the Tsushima Strait, Sept. 18, 2024. USINDOPACOM forces perform operations in and around critical sea passages and trade thoroughfares to deter threats that create regional instability and impinge on the free flow of goods, people, and ideas.
